Installing Windows 7 in Acer Aspire One using 4gb USB pendrive

What you'll need
  • 4gb USB drive
  • Acer aspire one with hardisk capacity of 80gb or above
  • UltraISO
  • Windows 7 installer
You can use any ISO maker but I suggest to use UltraISO as your image maker because it worked for me flawlessly. You can get the UltraISO for free in http://www.ezbsystems.com/ultraiso/ no need to register. After downloading and installing the UltraISO you can now open the Windows 7 installer(iso). In my case my installer is named en_windows_7_ultimate_x86_dvd_x15-65921.iso. Just right click the installer file and open with UltraISO.

By opening it with UltraISO there's an option to make the installer to be bootable with your 4gb USB pendrive. At the upper tab select Bootable and Write Disk Image.

Select your formatted 4gb USB drive (fat32/ntfs either of the two will work but i used fat32 format) and press write. Leave the write method to USB-HDD+ and press write.

It may take too long to finish depending on your computer's speed. After It's done you can now start the Installation on your cool Acer Asire One. Actualy, this tutorial is applicable on almost any netbook in the market right now. Same steps of course but I want to patronize my own netbook that's why I used it as an example for this tutorial.

Restart the computer and press F12 upon boot to go Boot Option Menu. Select your 4gb USB Drive with the disk image of windows 7 in the list and press enter. The windows 7 installation should start up. I suggest to partition your hd drive 40-50gb for the windows installation drive and the remaining is for your back up. In my case I have a 160gb model of Acer aspire one so i partitioned mine in 50gb, 110gb.

Just finish the installation process and it will work fine. You don't need to install any drivers for your acer aspire one. It all works fine with out installing any of the drivers like wireless device driver, graphic driver, webcam etc.

Now, enjoy using Windows 7 in your Acer aspire one. It's fast compared to windows vista and windows xp. Believe me. Im using just 1gb ram on my Acer aspire one. For any questions and concerns just comment and I would be happy to answer all of your questions regarding this tutorial.

My Oakwood Fatboy Hotsauce

Atlast! I got some shots of my oakwood fatboy complete a while ago. This deck is an ideal package for starters. This is my first wooden deck and luckily it's not local. It was given by my brother as a souvenir gift (Thank to Kuya Ebeth).

The package includes
  • 29mm x 100mm Wooden deck
  • Riptape
  • TD Wide trucks
  • O-rings
  • Bushings and screws
  • Stickers

The new mold of oakwood fatboy is medium concave, medium kicks which fits my playing style well. The o-rings set that is included on the package is sweet. The deck is stable as rock for more pop.

The package is worth 43$ including the shipping. Quite a nice price if you are in the US. Hahaha! All in all, It's a nice deck. I'll try to shoot some videos playing it.

Unlocking Phenom II X2 and X3 Cores

What you'll need:
  • Motherboard with SB710 Chipset or higher
  • Phenom II X3 720 BE, Phenom II x2 550 BE
  • Bios with ACC (Advanced Clock Calibration) feature
  • Luck
In my case, I used Asus M4785TD-M EVO to unlock the 4th core of my lucky Phenom II X3. The unlocking process is very simple.

At startup, you have to go to BIOS by pressing "Delete" in my case or F12 on other motherboard. Then go to:
  • Advanced Tab
  • Selec CPU Configuration
  • Set ACC to Auto
  • Enable Unleashing Mode
  • Set Active CPU Cores to 4 cores operation
  • Save and Exit
If your computer doesn't boot properly or reverted to its default bios settings then the 4th core is not yours. It may be defective or your processor doesn't belong to the lucky batch (you can check the lucky batch in the link below). If the computer boots up with no problem then you're almost good with your unlocked 4th core. A good way to check if the 4th core is unlocked is by running CPUZ or checking it in the task manager.

Unlocked:

Checkout the Code name, its Deneb. It's also the code name for some AMD Quad cores.

After unlocking the core, you may want to check the stability of your system by stress testing using Prime95, OCCT. Some Phenom II x3/x2 processors can be unlocked but not stable at all. Stress testing it for a minute will result a BSOD, hang, sudden shut off, etc. It's very important to check the stability of your system first to avoid any unwanted results.

Here are the detailed list of Phenom II series that can be unlocked:
